After almost one year of work, this great research has been published: The High Value City Travel Study 2015, which I elaborated for the IE Observatory of the Premium & Prestige Markets and with the kind collaboration and financial support of Mastercard. From the definition of the research focus, methodology, partners, design, workshops to the publication and presentation of results it has been a fantastic journey with some great result covering important knowledge gaps regarding High Value City Travel: Before-and-after-visit city images (“Wow Factor”), the nature of Bleisure travel (City trips with both business and leisure components), the pre-booking of experiences & activities, etc. The secondary research has been extensive before filling the gaps with primary market research in collaboration with Millward Brown. The focus was on selected Non-Euro market visitors to Europe’s capital tourism cities.
City travel is the strongest growing travel segment of the past 5 years and t has been growing even stronger in Non-Euro markets like the US, Russia, Latin America or China.
